Who's Performing?
PINKY MAY
ASH P
Ash has been fronting rock/rap bands for nearly 20 years now, as well as collaborations with other rappers.
He spent his 20’s fronting Skinless Finger, and currently co-fronts Dirty Vertebrae.
As well as this he draws, sings (a little), and acts.
Ash started to perform as a spoken word artist very recently, and has made repeat visits to mind over matter since he discovered it.
It’s helped him rediscover his drive, and self belief.
His lyrics are deeply rooted in the old school, drawing influences from artists such as Rakim, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Eminem, Das EFX, as well as countless others.
Things can get a little heavy, but there’s always a bizarre/dated reference or jokey lyric to lighten the palate.
The crux of Ash’s work is the classic balance between working to pay bills, and finding the time and energy to pursue his creative passions, with enough self belief to forge a career for himself in the arts.
Help him make this his year.
He can’t wait to perform again
SOUL31
Creating a buzz around the city for the past year with his unique style. Soul31‘s incredible singing voice over a variety of different beats (much of those produced by the man himself) has grown his following to a fantastic level. Supported by BBC introducing and Unity Radio. Soul31 has performed across the city and wowed crowds with his vocal performances and none more so than his first headline show for OpenBeat at Joshua Brooks.
Soul31‘s style is hard to pigeon hole. His singing voice is as unique as they come and his rapping skills.. second to none. He blends the two with harmony to create a musical journey on every track. From the catchy “Fool Me” to the cinematic “Go from here” and that’s just the start.
Soul31 improves with every song and we’ve been working with Soul for the past year and can’t wait to share some of the new music he’s been cooking up.
With features from Midications very own RJ on soon to be released “Lights” to the several Drum and Bass style bangers… Soul31 has something for everyone to enjoy.
